Season's greetings
I was writing this somewhere in the 'Ardennes' spending some time with friends and family. But posting to blogger.com via a dial-up link seems to be impossble, so with a sligth delay, and on DSL: a merry Christmas to you all!
It was a good time to look at the development schedule; I've been working on bugs in the lib, and updated my dev planning to aim for a final release of XPS Workbench in March/April 2007.
I'm planning a next WB tech preview for the begining of februari. A lot of new functionality will be in there (jpg/tiff/png to xps, search/replace, more info and some stuff for generating xps files with variable data). After that I'll be working towards a first beta.
NiXPS Library (v0.3.0) available for testing
NiXPS Library is a C/C++ shared library that contains all the functionality you have in the XPS Workbench application. I've been sending early versions to a few interested parties already (and got some very valuable feedback: thanks!).
To reach a broader audience, I've put a notice on my site that it's available for testing.
I'm taking a bit of a different approach than with the XPS Workbench app (that one can be downloaded, no questions asked), reason for this is the more technical nature of distributing a shared library and headers.
If your interested in a library that gives you access to an xps file (list documents and pages), read core properties, merge documents, add/delete pages and works cross-platform: then
drop me line.
