  Benefit #4: XPS is safe
Electronic documents are no software applications, the same way paper documents do not contain moving parts, or an engine for that matter.

The primary goal of an electronic document is to be a container for human readable content, presented in a particular layout. XPS is very good at that.

Technically it is possible to add all kinds of programmable, hence executable, features to an electronic document. But the result would be a format that is potentially hazardous as these executable features can be exploited by malicious people. Recent computing history teaches us that it is not a matter of ‘if’, but more a matter of ‘when’ these kinds of features will be exploited for malice.

XPS does not contain any programmable features; as a result it is guaranteed to be safe. This is a big plus for your company, and also for the people you are sending your documents to.
